Maybe your 'william is his father? However, it is odd that all the Williams have Nov 21 as their date of birth with different years. I don't have any information beyond James (b 1768) and what is in the Lindsey Book. It would be interesting if your information precedes the book Lindsey family. The book was compiled and copyright 1963 by Vaughn Hamberlin Rowley. It was printed by the Chief Printing Co., 231 S. College, Tyler, TX. It has Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 63-20054. James Lindsey was b. 1768 in Scottish settlement in NC. Wife Ruth was b. 1770. They had six children: (1) Samuel; (2) John; (3) William, b 21 Nov 1807 NC & mar. Eliza Lewis & d. 29 Nov. 1871, Port Sullivan, Milam Co., TX; (4) Clement, b. 23 Feb 1814 NC & mar. Margaret Cunningham, and d. 9 Aug 1876 at Hearne, TX.; (5) James' and (6) Eliza. In 1850 Ruth Howard Lindsey and dau. (6) Eliza, lived next door to Ruth's son, (3) William, near Rockford, AL. Son (4) Clement went to Georgia as a child with his family. Later he moved to MS where he was overseer of a platation in Pontotoc Co. when he mar.Margaret Cunningham, dau of Judge Ben Cunningham. Clem and Margaret had six chidren: Samuel Howard, Ruth Richerson, William Berry Grove, George Washington, Eliza Jane and Mollie. (3) William had a son James Monroe Lindsey b 1829, who had a son William Jasper b 1860. James had a brother John, b. 1779; who had son David b 19 May 1818; who had son David Satterfield Lindsey, b 30 Jun 1857; who had son George Cliffor Lindsey, b 4 June 1888 who had dau. Sylvia Ann Lindsey, b. 4 May 1935.
