    2. Is it possible this William Lindsey was ever in Madison Co., al. I have been searching for the father of Mary Jane Lindsey, born 1830 and married 1847 in Madison CO. al. The only older male Lindsey in that area at the time was William Lindsey. this comes from the 1830 census. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anne

    3. My information has Thomas Lindsey born in 1768 and he had 3 brothers. He married Hester A Clarke and they were from Scottland. I think there is a great possibility they are linked together. -----Original Message----- From: Keith Pearson [mailto:keith.pearson@gentire.com] Sent: Monday, April 23, 2001 12:36 PM To: LINDSEY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [LINDSEY] The Lindsey Book Gabbie, Your birth date for William ( Nov 21,1747) does not fit with the birth date for James Lindsey (b 1768 in a Scottish settlement in NC) who is the oldest ancester in the Lindsey book. Maybe your 'william is his father? However, it is odd that all the Williams have Nov 21 as their date of birth with different years. I don't have any information beyond James (b 1768) and what is in the Lindsey Book. It would be interesting if your information precedes the book Lindsey family. I appreciate the information on the County for the Scottish settlement, if indeed we are dealing with the same family. How do we make the connection between Gabbie's information and the Lindsey Book family? 1. [LINDSEY] Book
    2. Lynda Lindsey
    3. I have been trying to find out about LINDSEYs in Crystal Springs, since there must be some connection between these LINDSEYs and our McNEIL family in Amite Co. Rev. Jarrett Wesley McNEIL, born 21 December 1829, a son of Daniel McNEIL, Sr. of Amite Co., married Lucy Ann CARR? of Crystal Springs about 1870. He was a clergyman in the Methodist Episcopal Church, Mississippi Conference, probably serving at Hazelhurst c1873. They had a son named Myron Sibbie McNEIL, born 28 September 1873 at Hazelhurst, does this ring a bell with anyone, it came to me a while back, its the same Jarrett LIndsey I mentioned earlier who married Deborah MARTIN, daughter of Monroe MARTIN, on 6 July 1904 in Copiah Co. Some of this information came from Dunbar Rowland's _Mississippi_, Vol. III, p560. In the early 1970's a Rev.Jarret Alan LINDSEY, evidently one of their descendants, came to our old McNEIL home place in Amite Co. to record the family cemetery for inclusion in his book published in 1975, _Memoirs of the Lindsey-McNeil Families_. After I found out about this book around 1980, I have never been able to locate a copy to be able to see what he had included in it. If any of these LINDSEYs or McNEILs seem to have any connection to your husband's family or if you have any information on this book, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you about it. Thanks for any help you can give me. God Bless Lynda
