I don't mean to offend you, but I'm pretty certain that you can't....because Nobody making these claims online can truly back up what they say. I say that because I also came across these claims online some time back. When I contacted the person, she was slow to share sources for the info she'd also posted as if it were a proven fact... but she did finally name a couple of things that were "supposed" to back up her claims. Of course, IF I am Wrong and you do have documentation....PLEASE SHARE the Real sources for your claims. There are MANY of us...your cousins... who'd love to finally -truly- prove Daniel's ancestry. When I found the so-called sources she'd named and read them myself, I found out that they DO NOT show ANYTHING that links any of them to our Daniel, nor did they name the man who married Nicketti. When I mentioned this fact, she finally admitted that everything she'd posted as facts was really "just conjecture". In other words, a big fat GUESS...something that IS NOT good enough in genealogy. I understand how frustrating it is to have an ancestor be a huge brick wall for years ...and then when you come across something that sounds like somebody's broken down that wall it's so exciting that many people forget to stop - and think - and make sure there's a truly good reason to accept it. Nobody who really cares about their family tree should accept what they see online without Very Good Reasons backing it up. People should never post their theories as if they are proven fact. That's the kind of thing that's caused me to find some random parents attached to another one of my 'brick walls' and then copied by people who didn't look or think enough to see that they'd died about 115 years before she was born and not even in the same region. Just because something comes up in the hints...that doesn't mean it IS about that ancestor. Just because someone posts something...that doesn't mean it's true. Just because it's in another tree...that doesn't make it true either. I was very excited to think that someone had finally figured out Daniel's family too....but it just doesn't add up. If it did, somebody would have a source to document it ---that actually said what they claimed it did. PS> By the way, Nicketti's aunt (Pocahontas) did not marry John Smith as you state...she married John Rolfe. You are also confused in some of your info on Daniel's own family including the fact that Jinsa Jane Hicks is NOT the daughter of Reuben Hicks and Christina Powers. It is documented that she is an heir of Calibourne Hicks. Ann Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
