I've really enjoyed reading the e-mails about various Liddell's and where their from. I may have written here before but sense then maybe someone has come across this JOHN LIDDELL. JOHN LIDDELL b. 1770 Grunnark, Scotland. Came to NYC. 1792 that same year in the spring settled in Argyle Washington Co., NY then moved to Johnsburg Warren Co. NY. Death unknown. First married Margaret Oswald then married Rachael? It's unclear to me which wife is the mother of his children. But the last one is Margaret so I'm assuming here the first wife is the mother. children: Nancy, William, George, David, John and Margaret. The only one I have a birth date on NANCY LIDDELL 10 May 1793 she married JOSEPH WAKELEY in Warren Co. abt 1814. She died 10 May 1793 Johnsburg, Warren Co. NY. and is buried on the Wakeley farm in Sodom, Johnsburg, Warren Co. NY. I've seen the Wakeley Cemetery on the farm, she has a very readable tombstone. Thinking way back Johnsburg could have been in Washington Co. Anyone here about this JOHN LIDDELL and family? I'm related to Nancy Liddell through the Wakeley line.
