List members, Unfortunately, there is a message making the rounds of Rootsweb Message Boards and Mailing Lists which contains a link that, if opened, may insert a virus and adware/spyware onto your computer. The subject line reads: "GREAT NEW SITE TO FIND YOUR ANCESTORS." PLEASE be aware of this and do not open the link if this message comes through. Rootsweb has a spam filter but, apparently, it didn't catch this link. The message is below (I've included the link so you'll recognize it, but I've inserted spaces in it to disable the hyperlink). It may be time to investigate the possibility of acquiring an anti-adware/spyware program for your computer. More and more often, though you may be unaware of it, when you click on links or go to certain websites, adware to track your shopping habits and spyware, for even more devious reasons, will attach and imbed itself into your program files. You can go to Norton or any reputable anti-virus site to learn about these things. I chose "PestPatrol," which is a subscription plan, however, there are several free programs available. Be aware!
