We do not know when or how they came to the New World, but one possibility is that they came from Northern Ireland. Apparently many Scots and some English migrated to Northern Ireland in the 1600's and 1700's seeking better living conditions. In the early 1700's conditions in Ireland worsened and many of these "Scotch-Irish" migrated to the New World. If anyone has any information on Liddell's coming from Ireland, I would be interested in hearing about it. --Gary
