I'm afraid that the surnames you list are not too well documented back past the g-gfather stage. We have some of the families bearing these surnames among our members in those states and of their descendants elsewhere in the nation, but even they are having problems in linking up since we are still a young organization. Some of the issues are: A number of their ancestors entered the USA from Canada, others through NYC and there were Old World departures from Northern Ireland, Scotland and England. Compounding the problem for those arriving prior to 1750 or so is the great conflict-destruction of records in the 1600s and earlier in Scotland itself. Team Liddell, which is at the most fundamental level is planning an ALL-SURNAMES (which are derived from the old Liddesdale Scotland border district) DNA study starting in June 2005, does try to help out individuals such as yourself by collecting up brief line charts from each family in hopes that if enough are posted to our common files that some linkages will begin to appear.
