Looking for information on the descendants and lineage of James Willis Lewis and his wife Elizabeth. He is found on the tax lists of Crawford Co., Arkansas in 1836 and 1839. He and his family are on the 1840 Richland, Crawford, Arkansas census, 1850 Prairie, Arkansas, Arkansas census, and his wife is found with some of their children on the 1860 Freestone, Texas census. This is part of my research on the Lewis lines found in Northwestern Arkansas in the 1800s. There is a James W. Lewis who was b. abt. 1832 in Missouri; son of Elijah Lewis and Sarah Jane Hobaugh both born in Kentucky.They are all found living in Jasper, Crawford, Arkansas in 1850.
