It is said he was not related to the Lewis family of Meriwether Lewis but was related to the Meriwether family of Meriwether Lewis. I also believe my Alexander Lewis was related to Robert Fulton through the Smith family of Robert Fulton's mother Mary Smith. I have traced my Myers family to Chief John Logan. I have also traced them to Auburn NY. Ft Hill Cemetery is where Chief John Logan's monument is located. The Monument was ordered by Michael S Myers the first chairman of the Ft Hill Cemetery. What confused me is my great grandfather Jacob F Myers was listed in General Alexander Spotswood's Will. Gen Spotswood was married to Elizabeth Washington. Then Their son Alexander M Spotswood was married to Elizabeth Lewis who was a granddaughter of Betty Washington and Fielding Lewis. This I believe would make Elizabeth Lewis a cousin of Meriwether Lewis. The Myers family were surveyors for George Washington. I know for sure this family was building boats in Pittsburgh in the 1790's Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. We all know what back breaking work it is to clean an old cemetery, this is a wonderful idea. The goats can even be put on a chain [like a dog] in case there is no fence. Boy I wish I would of thought of this when our old family cemetery was in desperate need of cleaning. Patti Using Goats to clear a Cemetery Four sturdy goats are doing their part to uncover up to 30 grave sites at the Ballard Family Cemetery in Henderson County, North Carolina. The brambles and underbrush were so thick it was hard to see anything, much less walk around. The free labor is supplied by goats on loan from Henderson County Magistrate Sandra Laughter. It's hard to tell what's here until we clean it out," says Toby Linville, the county staff member for the Henderson County Cemetery Advisory Committee....
