I'll post my information slowly, as I have a full-time job and not a lot of extra time for this. Unfortunately, I have little proof for what I'll post, but I'll provide the evidence I have for my guesses. Please let me know about where I'm correct, and where I am in error. And, please don't be offended if I try to steal a member of your family. Just let me know. Also, if you would like work with me on building the site, let me know. When I first started researching this family in the 80s, I read that Jacob's wife, Mary, was a "Learsay," and of a native tribe from Virginia. The tribe was not one I'm familiar with. Since then, some have posted that she was Cherokee. It was also stated that Willoughby [I don't know which one] was known as "Woot" and Jacob as "Redcat" [or something similar], that they were fur trappers, and that Jacob, Willoughby and Chrisman, had travelled to Cooper County, Missouri, about 1847, where Jacob and Willoughby died. Chrisman returned to Indiana. If someone has a copy of this, could you post it? Thanks. Marilyn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
