I Actually have records that the name is spelled both ways. Although on his grave stone it is Lamon. Lots of Crawfords and Lewis families are around his gravesite. My interest in Ward Hall Laman is in the last 10 days of Lincoln's life and the location of Ward H Lamon in those 10 days. Abraham Lincoln had a meeting with Gustavus A Myers sometime around April 4th or 5th 1865 in Richmond aboard the riverboat The River Queen. Was Ward Hall Lamon with Abraham Lincoln at that time? Records are very clear that the only Richmond City Official to show up for this meeting was Gus Myers. A John A Campbell was with him but he was a Southern Commissioner and not from the City of Richmond. The meeting was to plan the shutting down of the Confederate Government. I believe a second meeting in Richmond was planed sometime around the 14th or 14th of April. Do you know anything about this?
