I have similar problems with "automatic translation" programs, and rarely use them, for that reason. The problem is that they do not translate, they transliterate - i.e., they do a word-for-word translation, which rarely renders the desired result. The classic example from years back. (perhaps apocryphal) was "out of sight, out of mind", which, after a round trip through an English->Russian->English translation came back as "blind, insane".
