I will tell you what I know about the Meriweathers and my Robert N Lewis. Robert N Lewis was b. in VA ca 1798 and died in Obion County (now Lake County) TN in 1859. After VA he lived in Hickman County, KY and then on to Obion County TN. The Meriweathers and my Lewises were always very close either by kinship or just very close friends. The Meriweathers followed the Lewises from VA to Ky and then on to Obion County, TN and always lived nearby the Lewises. I am not certain of the relationship of these Meriweathers or my Lewises to THE Meriweather Lewis. I do know that, some fifty years ago, my Aunt Onie Laura Lewis Riley, who I believe was in her early 80's at the time, told me that my ggfather Robert N Lewis was first married to a Meriweather then to Harriet Caldwell before he married my ggmother Elizabeth Carolyn Fisher. My documented Dillard connection is from my grandmother, Louisa Elizabeth Dillard, daughter of John Jefferson Dillard, who was the son of John Leath Dillard, the son of William M. Dillard, my ggggfather. I would love to have any info you have that might connect or clarify anything concerning the Dillards or Lewises or Meriweathers. Dear Bill, I would like to know if you know any more about Onie Laurie Lewis Riley? Catherine Lewis married David Raley in Clay Co, IL. She was the daughter of Silas Lewis & Elizabeth Dowling. The ancestor of this family was John Robert Riley born abt 1787 NC married to Catherine Rossiter. This Riley family could have been in OH at the same time as the Lewises. John Robert Riley had a brother James in the 1840 census of Clay Co, IL. I never found him after that census. John Robert Riley and part of his family migrated to Linn Co, KS.
