John, I became a "doubting Thomas", because I, nor others, can find any proof to back up the old traditions. In several cases, have found proof that is just the opposite. I am a firm believer in proving all things. Give me proof to the old traditions, and I will change my mind. What I now believe is not a preconceived notion. It is what I, and others, have learned over the past four or five years. -----Original Message----- From: RLTJPS@aol.com Sent: Monday, November 9, 2009 10:46 AM To: lewis@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [LEWIS] Perry County KY 1830 census In a message dated 11/8/2009 12:46:15 PM Pacific Standard Time, jhreeves@webtv.net writes: The last time I can find John COUCH, Sr. was 1800 Ashe County NC. Dickey Diaries by Couch descendants, nor records in Harlan County, or in other proven findings by others. That is the doubting Thomas principle that guides those who cannot find genealogy to their liking. Perhaps that is the reason a new Couch Mail List has been established recently. Yes, try looking in the Perry County, KY Cemeteries.
