I have seen on several websites that John COUCH who married Mary/Polly BOON, was listed on the 1830 census. That is just not accurate. The John COUCH listed there was a much younger man. Neither can I prove that John COUCH was ever in Perry, or Clay Counties KY. While there was a John COUCH on the early tax records of Clay County, there is nothing to indicate whether he was John COUCH, Sr., or John COUCH, Jr. I have also seen that the COUCHES came to Clay County KY, at the same time the LEWIS' and CAMPBELL families. If so, then where were they on the census of 1810 Clay County. LEWIS and CAMPBELL are all I can find there. In fact, Martin and James COUCH were both in Washington County VA, in 1810. The last time I can find John COUCH, Sr. was 1800 Ashe County NC. It appears some of the old traditions are just not factual. Does anyone have documented proof that disputes my findings?
