Hello, Just a quick note to say I have just heard from a descendant of the .13. LEWIS siblings of Stoneham, MA. I've been trying to gather information about them and their descendants for at least 3 years. In one way or another, posting queries or writing slow-mail letters, I have found about a dozen descendants. When Stanley and Mary LEWIS both died of cancer in 1923 and 1924, their mostly adult children moved out of Stoneham. Two of the younger ones moved out to the Los Angeles, CA, area. I had already found 2 descendants of John LEWIS, and now I have found a descendant of Mrs. Helen (LEWIS) TALMADGE. I started writing up a report about this family 2 years ago, and I very much want to finish it this year. A reminder is that both "Stanley" LEWIS and Mary CORKILL were born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England ~1860, and were "shipped to Canada" in 1874. In Canada, the "over 100,000" children arriving there were referred to as "British Home Children." On the ship with Stanley were 3 LEWIS girls. I believe Josephine married into a LANE family in Nova Scotia. I don't know what happened to the younger girls, Elizabeth LEWIS and Mary LEWIS, arriving there in 1874. (One possibility is that they were adopted and had their names changed. The 3 girls were not siblings of Stanley, and I don't believe they were directly related.)
