I'm stuck at my GGG grandmother Zillah Lewis b 1823 in North Carolina. She is the mother of my GG grandfather William Lewis b 1848 d abt 1908. I can follow Zillie from the 1850 Nash NC census through 1880 in Wilson NC. It's a mystery who the father of her children was. She can be found on the census with young children yet no obvious father, and in the 1880 record she is listed as "single" and her 20 year old son John Lewis is living with her. Going back to the 1850 census, there is an older female named Judah Lewis. I'm not sure if Judah is her mother or mother-in-law. Here is a list of the people she's associated with on various records.
