This turns out not to be the case. The results from any testing lab can be compared with the results from any other testing lab. If this weren't the case, there would be no use in doing any testing at all. Choose the DNA lab that works best for you and is recommended by other genealogy researchers. Don't expect excessive changes in your genealogy, nor should you expect any miraculous connections to appear that you don't already know. The most DNA testing can give you is confirmation of what you've already documented, or a new direction for documentary research. DNA testing does not prove any connections that are undocumented in public or private records. Documentation is still necessary and absolute. It is still much easier to compare results within the same testing company. Not only are markers given in different order, but different markers are tested and expressed and weighted differently. And if you want to belong to the Lewis DNA Project which has 352 members you must test with our chosen lab. Their benefits are not available elswhere.
