Lycurgus was a Greek orator, activist and government official. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycurgus_of_Athens. Another Lycurgus was a mythological king who was mentioned in Homer's Iliad. My dad had a cousin (not a Lewis) named Lycurgus who was often called Curg.
