Well, I found on the American Society of Genealogists website this information: Donald Lines Jacobus Award and Recipients The Donald Lines Jacobus Award, established in 1972 to encourage sound scholarship in genealogical writing, is presented to a model genealogy published within the previous five years. Nominations for the Jacobus Award are made by Fellows of the American Society of Genealogists who edit journals that run book reviews. Recipients of the Jacobus Award are shown below. 1974 (Triple Award) Daniel Reid Long, Jr., John Lewis, "The Lost Pioneer," His Ancestors and Descendants 1670-1970 and it lists two others for that year. So, I guess it must be a reliable book! I found a snippet view of this book on Google Books and was disappointed that, although Samuel Harding Lewis was listed, a Lycurgus (sometimes spelled Lycurgas) Lewis wasn't. Would you be able to tell me what children are listed in the book for Samuel Harding Lewis? Thanks! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I had the opportunity to speak to the son of this author about a year ago. He was looking to donate all his father's research to a historical society in eastern Virginia, I do not recall exactly where at the moment. He told me that his parents had spent years tracking down information from many places. He was not very familiar with the information himself, but said there was even more information in his father's files. I hope this helps. If I can find out if the records have been donated I will post the information to this list.
