Audrey, I did too for the longest time. However, I have looked at the 1900 US Federal Census, NC Death Certs 1909-1975, NC Birth Index 1800-2002, an obituary for Waits Dewey CALLOWAY and a certificate of death for Naomi CALLOWAY BENFIELD. They all indicate LEWIS rather than LUSK. I suspect that was another transcription error, too. Tamara G.
