Author: alfredstat Surnames: Lewis Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.lewis/12075/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am preparing a DNA profile for the male Lewis descendents of George Lewes (aka George Lewis) born 1600 in England and subsequently immigrating to the MA colonies about 1632. I hope to use the DNA data from documented descendents to identify the missing links to three Lewis lines from NC, SC and PA. The NC, SC and PA lines have DNA data that relates them with a high probability to the George Lewis line. However, the ancestors of the NC, SC and PA lines can be traced back no further than Revolutionary War times. If enough people submit DNA data, there are certain mutations in some markers that could be helpful in discovering where to look for missing genealogical data. Therefore, I am looking for George Lewis descendents who have submitted to DNA testing or who are contemplating being tested.
