Hello, Just wanted to offer an FYI that I watched the 2nd half of a documentary on the history of ..cows.. in our world. I think it was called "Holy Cow." Cows and cattle and their importantance in every part of the world, and in every nation, were discussed. But, one interview was with a "LEWIS" family in England who had been "cattle / cow farmers" in their area for many generations. From memory, I think the first was a Thomas LEWIS. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/holycow/ Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) FYI: My ancestor was Richard LEWIS, b~1804 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. Actually just yesterday I found out more about County Shropshire. In nearby Telford, on the River Severn, there is an "Iron Bridge" which is famous. It was built by the very first family who invented the "smelting of iron with coke" (rather than with charcoal). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironbridge_Gorge http://www.ironbridge.org.uk/ (Researchers tell me there were at least 3 LEWIS couples in the large town (now city) of Shrewsbury who could have been the parents of Richard.)
