    1. [LEWIS] Willie W. Lewis in Bastrop Co, Tx and Bryan Co, Oklahoma... Can't find his daddy...
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: biglou1221 Surnames: Lewis, Truitt Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.lewis/13592/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm having trouble finding the parents of Willie Walker Lewis. Here's what I know, plus some conjecture. William Walker Lewis: B 13 Apr 1884 probably in Hamilton Co, Texas, D. 11 Jan 1937 in Denison, Tx, Buried in Colbert, Bryan, Oklahoma (where he actually lived), married Ella Maggie Truitt 15 May1905, most likely in Bastrop Co, Tx, can't find marriage records, but I have evidence that Ella grew up in Bastrop, and that Willie was living there in 1910 and 1920, so I think it's pretty safe to assume they met in Bastrop. Children were Frank, Mamie, Lillian, Mary, Wilma, and Dewey. 1918 William Walker Lewis in Bastrop, TX filled out WWI draft registration, listed closest living relative as Eall(???) Lewis. Don't think it's a mispelling of "Ella" because the addresses are different, but can't find a record of an E Lewis living in Bastrop during that time period. 1910 Census Willie lived in Bastrop, said he was born in Texas and didn't list his father's birth place 1920 Census, still in Bastrop. says he was born Texas and his daddy is from Texas 1930 Census, Lived in Colbert, Oklahoma, says he was born in Texas and his daddy was born in Kentucky (which I checked too) Death certificate (Filled out by Ellie) says Father was F H (A?) Lewis born in "MIss" (checked mississippi and missouri = nothing), mother was Mary Jane Walker So with all this information, I though for sure I would be able to track him down, but I cannot seem to find Willies daddy. Another user in a different forum made some suggestions, but they didn't pan out, so I though I would try this one and see if any of the names rang a bell. Any help would be truely appreciated.
