It says that Joseph had a crooked left litte finger. Any was he voted in Belle Vista, Shasta co. CA so you would need to find the library in that town that does Obits. And also the Historical society for Shasta co. they might have one. William was of age so they would not have needed his parents concent, and I do feel he was married before. I have looked at every census year in IL from 1850 to 1870 and I think that there must be at least 21 William Lewis the right age. But none living in Adams co. so he might have been passing thru or lived in a co. over. I am sorry, I have looked at every county you have mentioned and other than the death date for Anna and woters list thats all I could find.
