I can only go as far back as my greatgrandfather Frederick Augustus Lewis 1855-1893 born Aldershot Surrey or Plumstead Essex according to censuses. His father according to his marriage certificate in 1880 to a Sarah Chamberlain of Harrow Middlesex states fathers name also Frederick Lewis. At present I can't go back any further. Does anybody else have a story similar to this in their family or know more about the siblings or parents of John Lewis b.1836 who opened a drapers shop in Oxford street London.
