    2. I have seen several post about the Birthmark. I have a strawberry colored birthmark on my left arm(from elbow to wrist) I also had an uncle who had a strawberry colored birthmark on most of the left side of his body. It is interesting to know that it is sort of a family trait. My fathers mother was a Lewis. Does this run in all Lewis families or just certain branches? I have good reason to believe that my LEWIS lineage from Lewis LEWIS/aka Lewis ap Lewis connects closely to the 1st Generation John LEWIS who died in 1697 in Northumberland County, Virginia, and married Mary GARNER shown in the first set of information as shown below my email that comes from the LEWIS DNA site.  I am not sure but I think that the timeframe would make it possible that John LEWIS and Mary GARNER were the parents of my Lewis LEWIS/Lewis ap Lewis LEWIS/Lewis ap Lewis but I don't know if the possibility exists for them to have had another son or not, (the names of their children that I have found, so far, are listed below.) Mary GARNER and John LEWIS' son, William LEWIS, married Elizabeth COX who was a daughter of Vincent COX, Sr. who was, also, many of us believe, the father of Hannah COX who married 1st husband, George LAM(P)KIN, (my 8th great grandparents,) and then 2nd husband, Dr. Samuel DEMOURVEL(L)(E)/DEMOURVILLE.  It is possible that Hannah COX could have been related to Vincent COX, Sr. in another way but most likely, (with the deeded land to her and husband, George LAMKIN,) from Vincen COX, Sr.,) was that Vincent COX, Sr. was the father of Hannah COX. I am interested in any information that may have surfaced regarding Vincent COX, Sr.'s involvement with the Nanzatico tribe in Virginia as well as the possibility that his 1st wife might have been of either the Nanzatico or the Patawomeck tribe and/or the daughter of (Captain) Henry FLEET whom, apparently, lived with the Patawomeck tribe and may have had an earlier wife before his wife, Sarah, and, thusly, may have had a daughter who married Vincent COX, Sr. as his 1st wife. George LAM(P)KIN and Hannah COX were the ancestors of the Lewis LAMKIN who married Mary "Polly/Molly" LEWIS, daughter of Elizabeth JOHNSTONE and Lewis LEWIS/aka Lewis ap Lewis. Hannah COX and Elizabeth COX as sisters would generate great likelihood that the LEWIS family of Lewis LEWIS/aka Lewis ap Lewis was the same LEWIS family as the John LEWIS who married Mary GARNER. Immediately below my signature, the first information is from the will of Jane MARTIN, mother of Elizabeth JOHNSTONE who married Lewis ap Lewis LEWIS and Jane JOHNSTONE who married James LAMKIN, all of the mid-late 1600s Northumberland/Westmoreland County, Virginia, ancestors of my Lewis LAMKIN who married Mary "Polly/Molly" LEWIS, born:  prob. bet. 1720-1725, Death : 30 JAN 1758, (recorded in the Virginia Colonial Abstracts, Northumberland County (1661-1810,) VOL 3: Record of Deaths,) daughter of Lewis LEWIS/Lewis ap Lewis LEWIS/Lewis ap Lewis and wife, Elizabeth JOHNSTONE, and immediately following that is more information about the family of John LEWIS of mid-late 1600s in Northumberland/Westmoreland County, Virginia that married Mary GARNER my family group of MARTIN-JOHNSTONE that married into my LAMKIN and LEWIS lines and in it there is mentioned a man by the name of James GAYNOR and wondering if there might be a connection with the Mary GARNER who married the John LEWI! S, 1st Generation as shown below. I look forward to hearing from any of you who may be able clarify some of these things. In advance, I thank you. He married Elizabeth JOHNSTONE whom I believe is related to the Jane JOHNSTONE, (daughter of James JOHNSTONE,) who married James LAMKIN and they are related to a John PAYNE, Jr.. Is this the son of John PAYNE, born: abt. 1615 in Yorkshire, England, who immigrated to Rappahannock, VA and married Margret(t) ROB(B)INSON,(dau of Richard ROB(B)INSON prob. who was early immigrant to Tidewater area,) whose daughter, Margaret PAYNE married 1st husband, John JENNINGS, and whose 2nd husband was Christopher EDRINGTON, Sr.? In the information below it shows these lines connecting to my COX lineage with Hannah COX and others. And there is a Jane MARTIN in connection with this information below that I am also trying to sort out where she and the Elizabeth PAYNE aka Elizabeth JOHNSTONE fits in to this immediate LEWIS - JOHNSTONE - LAMKIN family group that also connects to some of my other family lines as well. Looking forward to someone who has more clarification on some of this information especially regarding who the parents of this Lewis LEWIS were. Thank you. (signed) Jane (hF) MARTIN." Proved 16 May 1677. "John Payne Jr. was married before 1676, because at that date his mother-in-law, Jane Martin, left a will naming her daughter as "Elizabeth Pain." This woman Elizabeth is often called Elizabeth Awbrey, but that is incorrect. The confusion comes in because Elizabeth had a sister named Jane who married John Awbrey, a man old enough to be the girls' father. With a mother called Jane & daughter called Jane, a man much older than his wife, and the fact that John Awbrey was mentioned in mother Jane's will--all that taken together resulted in an incorrect assignment of John & Jane Awbrey as Elizabeth's parents. However, mother Jane Martin's will makes it clear that her daughter Elizabeth is married to a "Pain" and that daughter Jane Johnstone is underage. (John Awbrey appears to be an overseer or something to that effect, and is mentioned in the will. His exact relationship to the family is unclear, but he is obviously not Elizabeth's father.) Assuming that married daughter Elizabeth is older than underage daughter Jane Johnstone, I have also *assumed* that Elizabeth was a Johnstone (rather than a Martin). (See more of Jane Martin's will at the bottom of the page. I can find only an excerpted will at the moment. I'll try to find the full document later.) Mother Jane Martin was evidently married at least twice, earlier to a Johnstone & last to a Martin, who left her a widow. But neither of her husbands is known, nor is her maiden name known. I have both John Payne Jr. and Elizabeth Johnstone Payne dieing c 1698, though I have no reason given as to why I recorded that. The only two children I have for them are "our" William & brother John. The records Shawn sent (below) indicate these realtionships. ---record--- 1. I have looked for them for a while now, but still can't come up with them. I'll keep looking & send them out asap.) 3. Hi Shelley, If I'm reading your post correctly, you have the parents of Irvin D. Lewis being born in Pennsylvania/Scotland. Do you have their names, and where in Pennsylvania? I have some Ohio connections that originated in Pennsylvania and would like to know more if you have it. The info you have mentioned doesn't ring any bells for me, which is why I'm asking about the previous generation. Thanks and hope to here from you soon. Sandra Lewis Burnham

    3. Looking for parents of Charles kemper lewis born Mar 1875 in Platte Co ,Missouri, Platte City,Pretty much searched all the lewis in that line so wodneing if he might bw listed there. Any shown to be born in Texas? i know of some lewis that went to Texas and one female Lewis of the other Lewis line was in Texas for awhile and than went back to Platte Co., Mo whee she died. I am thinking that both lines of lewis could be related back someways.
