According to the book, The Family of John Lewis, Pioneer compiled by Irvin Frazier, Mary supposedly died unmarried. I do not have a source for my information but I have some notes that indicate that Mary Lewis, daughter of Charles and Sarah Murray Lewis, did marry Peter Bunn as you indicated. I have a copy of Charles' will, I would need to find it, but that might be a clue for you. Charles left a great deal of land to his children, both boys and girls. Charles was also give a lot of land for his service, and also his death, at the Battle of Point Pleasant. I hope this was helpful, Anna Hook -----Original Message----- From: lewis-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:lewis-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, March 25, 2009 1:28 AM To: LEWIS@rootsweb.com Subject: [LEWIS] Mary Lewis b. 1769, Virginia, d. 1861 Ohio, wife of Peter Bunn This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Fred, I think I know which Lewis family you are looking for. Lena (Magdalena) and John are both names in this family, and they settled in the Steuben area after leaving the Amsterdam, NY area. It's a very large family, and I would need to know the name of one member who would have been born around 1800 to be sure. Some members were Loyalists and came to Canada, but most stayed in NY. They intermarried with the Gunsolus family in 2 or 3 generations. I have been to the Bath area, and there are many lewis graves in 2 cemeteries there.
