Dear Lewis-2 Group Administrator, In the last few days we have received several e-mails from group administrators asking us to extend our "Unparalleled 50% Promotional Discount" Y-DNA37+mtDNA for $119 (the regular project price is $248 - a reduction of more than 50%!!), as many people are only now becoming aware of the promotion. We have decided, therefore, to extend it until June 30th, 2009. Kits must be paid by July 7, 2009. www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Lewis-2&Code=U48509

We (my sister LaFaye and I) are descended from John Lewis, planter, of Albemarle County, VA. I think this is the John Lewis you are referring to. We did the DNA through our cousin and it is in Group I of the Lewis DNA Project. He did not have a son named David though. His sons were John and Owen as put forth in his will. Owen was my 4th great grandfather. I hope to use the DNA data from documented descendents to identify the missing links to three Lewis lines from NC, SC and PA. The NC, SC and PA lines have DNA data that relates them with a high probability to the George Lewis line. However, the ancestors of the NC, SC and PA lines can be traced back no further than Revolutionary War times. If enough people submit DNA data, there are certain mutations in some markers that could be helpful in discovering where to look for missing genealogical data. Therefore, I am looking for George Lewis descendents who have submitted to DNA testing or who are contemplating being tested. You guys have been great with all the help. I sent family tree dna a question on how I should set up the accts. Because I'm going to be in charge of my uncles dna lol.. they won't know what to do with it or how to interpret it. Heck I'm having a hard enough problems figuring out my mtdna. Hopefully once I get my uncle on my dads side I'll have more lewis info. That would be so nice since I'm dead ended. Now I'll be able to use my uncles on my dads side for other surnames other then Greer right? Because lewis is a generation back for him. Oh that's his mom's side. See I tell ya this is all confusing me. His mtdna will trace that correct? I have a quick question, does anyone remember or known if when swabbing for dna do you need to do this first thing in the morning or can it be anytime of the day. I need to know because I'm trying to figure out which uncle on my moms side to swab. I only have one on my dad's side which is my lewis line. My ggrandma was a lewis. I'll post that info later today to see if I have any bites I'm pretty much at a dead end. I just ordered one test for my hubby at the discounted price what a great savings.
