Thank you Patti. Yes, we've checked with the Boone family researchers, as well as our own research. They have never heard of our Mary Elizabeth Boon(e). Here again, family traditions claim our Mary, called Polly, was a sister of Daniel Boone, and that her father was Squire Edward, or Edward Squire. We have checked all the sons of Squire Boone -- find nothing. If we did not have the one document stating her name, and that she was wife of John Couch, we would believe she probably did not exist. lol btw, the document says that she was "with childe", in August 1774. We believe the "childe" to have been my 3rd gr grandmother, Sarah/Sally Couch, who married James T. Lewis, Jr. Thanks again. 'Preciate the input. Joyce
Hello, I've mentioned my grandfather's large family before. There is information in the archives of several Lists. I've been trying to finish a report on the 13 siblings growing up in Stoneham, MA, between 1880 and 1920. And, I have very little information on 2 of my grandfather's older brothers. So, I'd just like to mention them in case someone might know about them: Edward "Eddie" LEWIS possibly had 2 wives: Mary ______, then "Sallie" _____. I believe he had 2 children, and I think he lived in Lowell. Francis "Frank" LEWIS possibly married "Bessie" _____, and had 2 children. But, he died in 1913 at Age 26. I do not know whether "Bessie" remarried. I've even had trouble finding them in census reports up to 1920, and I don't have access at home to the 1930 census. Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA)

I came across this and didn't know if there is a connection with this line. Sometimes in the transcribing or the original work an error is done, well worth the look. Since there was a Mary Elizabeth Boon listed as marrying a John Couch, has anyone checked with the Boone line? There are Boones who where listed as Boon. John, I became a "doubting Thomas", because I, nor others, can find any proof to back up the old traditions. In several cases, have found proof that is just the opposite. I am a firm believer in proving all things. Give me proof to the old traditions, and I will change my mind. What I now believe is not a preconceived notion. It is what I, and others, have learned over the past four or five years. -----Original Message----- From: RLTJPS@aol.com Sent: Monday, November 9, 2009 10:46 AM To: lewis@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [LEWIS] Perry County KY 1830 census In a message dated 11/8/2009 12:46:15 PM Pacific Standard Time, jhreeves@webtv.net writes: The last time I can find John COUCH, Sr. was 1800 Ashe County NC.
