Does anyone know why John Couch of Ashe Co. NC, named a son Martin ?? Were there others in the family with that given name, or someone with Martin as a surname ?? James T Lewis, Jr. and Sally Couch, dau of John, later named a son William Martin. Sally's grdau, Mary Moore, who married Jeremiah Davidson, also named a son Martin. Jeremiah Davidson's uncle, John Madison Davidson, also named a son Martin. Was it just a popular name of the day ?? Thanks for any help. Joyce
