My Grandpa had a brother named Jones Lewis, b. May 31, 1863 probably TN. His parents were Moses Vandever Lewis b. Jan 25, 1833 Washington Co,ARK, d. Jan 1,1905 Washburn,Sebastian Co,ARK & Sarah Catharine RHODES b. June 25, 1834 TN, d. Sept 19, 1889 Washburn,Sebastian Co,ARK. Moses & Sarah moved to TN for a bit & Moses enlisted in the Union army & after the war farmed a bit on someones farm (??) then moved back to Arkansas.Moved to Texas for a year about 1870-17. I would have to look up the date in his pension papers. They moved there for Sarah's health. Then they moved back to Arkansas. Parents of Moses, Jones father, were Samuel Lewis & Bricie LITTLE/HOLT. LITTLE was her mother's maiden name & HOLT was her father's surname. Her father didn't marry her mother. If you think this is your family you may eamil me at geneobugkk902@pldi.net . I would be happy to help you if I can. P.S. I got Jones' birthdate from Moses' military pension papers. We all know what back breaking work it is to clean an old cemetery, this is a wonderful idea. The goats can even be put on a chain [like a dog] in case there is no fence. Boy I wish I would of thought of this when our old family cemetery was in desperate need of cleaning. Patti Using Goats to clear a Cemetery Four sturdy goats are doing their part to uncover up to 30 grave sites at the Ballard Family Cemetery in Henderson County, North Carolina. The brambles and underbrush were so thick it was hard to see anything, much less walk around. The free labor is supplied by goats on loan from Henderson County Magistrate Sandra Laughter. It's hard to tell what's here until we clean it out," says Toby Linville, the county staff member for the Henderson County Cemetery Advisory Committee....
