Phebe Eddy-Grimes, married Henderson Luelling 27 June 1851 in Linn Co., OR. Phebe and her 1st husband Ephraim Grimes had moved from NY to MO and planned to move to OR, but Ephraim died in MO in 1845. Phebe moved (believed with her son) to OR in 1847; she was living in Linn Co., OR, at the time of the 1850 Census. Phebe died in 1853 and Henderson Luelling married 10 Oct 1855 in Clackamas Co., OR, Miss Betsey A. Eddy, who is believed to have been Phebe's sister. Two of Phebe Eddy's nephews married daughters of Henderson Luelling. Seth William Eddy married Rachel Harriet Luelling (1837-1919) 23 Feb 1853 in Milwaukie, OR, and Henry Welch Eddy married Jane Luelling (1838-1872) 18 March 1853 in Linn Co., OR. Seth and Rachel Eddy divorced and Seth Eddy remarried Marietta Miller; some of Seth's descendants continued to live in OR. A sister of Seth Eddy, Betsey Ann Eddy, married Wilson Henry Countryman in NY and Betsey, Wilson and their son Charles moved to Portland, OR, in 1899; Betsey died in Portland in 1908 and Wilson Contryman (spelling of name changed) died in Portland in 1923. Charles Contryman died in Portland, OR, in 1952, and Charles' son Alfred died in Multnomah Co., OR, in 1978.
