    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jMw.2ACEB/51.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Philinda Welch was the only sister of Philander Tisdale Welch, who lived in Watertown N.Y. ....my father's great grandfather....I will forward his tree to you if you would like. Philinda daughter "Philinda" is the question.... for I have "a postmarked San Francisco 1849 letter from H.W.Eddy to P.T. Welch in Watertown (somewhere because we are in the process of moving") in that letter H.W. states his sister has died in Portland and he is on the way up there!! This is what started my quest in finding a record of where, why etc. I just stumbled on H.W.Eddy in the clackamus county history page. The dates are a bit different from yours as is the death of Philinda from my letter (they sure dragged those dead bodies back to Waterstown) Thank you for the Grimes details and do you know about Eddysville Oregon outside of Newport Or?? This quest has answered a big question about who my grandfather visited and worked in the mines with in Colorado in 1900. He and a friend took a years leave from Chicago and took up the rail offer of going to California for a buck.........H.W.Eddy son Henderson H. Eddy (named after grandfather Lewelling, was a mining engineer in leadville Co....I noted a history on him that I haven't been able to open yet.....he ended up a lawyer and died in Boulder it looks like! my e mail is [email protected] would love the details on Countryman (sp) also the death of Phoebe and Seth and Betsy are NEW to me and another avenue of exploration ..I would love anything you could give me and of course I can share with my cousins in Chicago (where most of the Welchs ended up after they left Waterstown!!
