This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: oc and thomas lewelling of mississippi Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/jMw.2ACEB/1.2.4.10.11.23.24.27.31.1.1 Message Board Post: this has been a truly interesting search. you are related to terry lewelling, son of oc. here is the story: terry's mother, rachel jane teacutter married oc when she was 16 years old. oc really didn't want to have children at such a young age, and the marriage was obviously not going to work out, anyways. so rachel left with terry and never heard from oc again. she spoke fondly of othal and mabell (sp?). terry lewelling is like any other human being, curious and wanting to know his roots. can you tell me where oc and thomas are buried, by chance? can you tell me how many living relatives terry has, and if any of them would be willing to converse with him, just for closure? he wants to know something about his paternal family. terry is a good man, takes care of his wife and children. this missing piece of his puzzle lies with the lewellings of mississippi. one thing i can post is that i have spoken to and emailed several lewellings from various states during the search. they all seem to be "real" people, and considerate people, which you can't ask for better. another thing i found, and i hope this doesn't embarass anyone, but the ladies have always liked lewelling men...all the way back as far as you can trace. this isn't to say lewelling men weren't faithful, it is just stating that they have been quite popular with the ladies. please respond as to where oc and thomas are buried, and if anyone in the family would agree to filling terry in on any details, positive or negative, about his father--which unfortunately, he will never know first-handed.if so, please send contact info to [email protected] and thanks!!! jeanne marie
