Phebe was the aunt of Henry Welch Eddy who married Henderson's daughter Jane. Some have listed Phebe as the mother of Henderson's son Henderson, born about 1851, but that is very unlikely; Phebe was 47 years old in 1851: 1850 Census, OR Terr, Linn Co., 21 Sept, pg 72b, #171/172: Phebe Grimes, 46, f, NY Jason Wheeler, 26, m, Farmer, NY Eliza, 19, f, IN Leonard, 24, m, NY From the Eddy Family Asso. She was born on 4 Feb 1804 at Rutland, Jefferson Co., New York, USA. She married Henderson H. Llewelling on 27 Jun 1851 at Forks of the Santiam, Linn County, Oregon Territory, USA. She died in 1854. Children of Phebe Eddy and Ephraim Grimes were as follows: i. George ii. Willard L. iii. Philander There were no children of Phebe Eddy and Henderson H. Llewelling. Does anyone have data to support Henderson's death date and location? Henderson has been reported to have died in 1879 in CA, but I have not been able to find him in the 1860 nor 1870 Census. Has anyone found Henderson Lewelling in the 1860 and 1870 Census? Henderson's children are scattered in 1870. His daughter Eliza, age 20, was living with Henry Welch Eddy in Jefferson Co., NY, and his son Levi was living with Seth Eddy (cousin of Henry Welch Eddy) in Clackamas Co., OR.
