Phebe was the aunt of Henry Welch Eddy who married Henderson's daughter Jane. Some have listed Phebe as the mother of Henderson's son Henderson, born about 1851, but that is very unlikely; Phebe was 47 years old in 1851: 1850 Census, OR Terr, Linn Co., 21 Sept, pg 72b, #171/172: Phebe Grimes, 46, f, NY Jason Wheeler, 26, m, Farmer, NY Eliza, 19, f, IN Leonard, 24, m, NY From the Eddy Family Asso. She was born on 4 Feb 1804 at Rutland, Jefferson Co., New York, USA. She married Henderson H. Llewelling on 27 Jun 1851 at Forks of the Santiam, Linn County, Oregon Territory, USA. She died in 1854. Children of Phebe Eddy and Ephraim Grimes were as follows: i. George ii. Willard L. iii. Philander There were no children of Phebe Eddy and Henderson H. Llewelling. Does anyone have data to support Henderson's death date and location? Henderson has been reported to have died in 1879 in CA, but I have not been able to find him in the 1860 nor 1870 Census. Has anyone found Henderson Lewelling in the 1860 and 1870 Census? Henderson's children are scattered in 1870. His daughter Eliza, age 20, was living with Henry Welch Eddy in Jefferson Co., NY, and his son Levi was living with Seth Eddy (cousin of Henry Welch Eddy) in Clackamas Co., OR.

Hello all; I am researching Lewellen (or however its spelled) and there is so much contridictions on the web, that I am sorely confused. My Margaret Lewellen was born abt. 1765 in Prince Edward Co, VA. She married William Raines b. 1762 in Surry Co, VA. They both died in Randolph County, N.C. in the 1820's. Researching, I find her parents to be Daniel and Mary Burks., but there are so many different marriage dates for thhis Daniel and Mary that I am totally confused as to when they were married etc. Some say 1736, some say 1760. The line I think is hers goes; Daniel & Mary Burkes m. 1760 Jesse & Anne Owens m. before 1742 Thomas & Ruth Vernon m. before 1675 Rhode Island Thomas & Sarah Unknown m. 1642 in Wales (maybe) John Llewelyn b. abt 1580, Wales The other line that folks have out on her line, is; Daniel Sr & Ann Baker m. 1640 (widow of Wm Hallam) Daniel Jr & *Jane Stith m. before 1670 **Daniel lll & Mary Burkes m. abt 1736 *** *(problem is, this Jane Stith, dau. of John Stith was not born until 1673) (They supposedly had a son, Daniel lll, but I have a paper that said Daniel Jr.,had no sons. "Old Letters of the 17th Century") (***She had children when she was in her late 50's??) If anyone has a clue as to who my Margarets parents are, please help me. I know her brother Jesse, b. abt 1763, owned land in Wake Co, N.C. 1790, and is enumerated in Wake co., 1800. He then evidently moves on down into Anson Co and died there 1840. Thank you in advance for any help Mary __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Via internet, we exchanged a lot of information re Ferguson/Lewelling connections. Peggy is the granddaughter of Harriett Lucinda Ferguson and John D. Gillespie. She is also my second cousin, which was surprising since I am much older than she! Mable asked me if I knew any Zinns. Peggy sent me a booklet she prepared for me and it shows the Zinn ancestors of our family connections back to the 1700's. I will bring it to the reunion with me. Carolyn Stewart also sent me some information on the Bailey Frank Ferguson family, along with some pictures.
