My Leshers are an exception. My great-great grandmother was Catherine Lesher, who was born in Prussia in 1835. It may very well be that they changed the spelling from German or possible French, since there were a lot of French people in western Prussia, but they always used Lesher after coming to the U.S. Though we know all the dates for her and her two brothers, we have been unable to find any birth records to show us who their parents were.
