    3. I don't think I am related to any of these Leshers, but are you sure about the France thing? My ancestor, Catherine Lesher, was from Coblenz, Rhineland, Prussia. We know the names and birth dates of two brothers, both of which to the USA also. We have not found her parents. I haven't been able to find them in any German immigrants records either. I read microfilms until I was crosseyed and could not find any Leshers at all in Coblenz, let alone her family. Someone told me they may have come from France originally, as you suggested. The likelihood is greater because the family were Catholic, not Lutheran. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding her (and her siblings') birth records from Coblenz? (Catherine was born in 1835.) These people never went to Pennsylvania or Maryland. Catherine probably arrived in New Orleans, though we aren't sure of that. She is buried in Salt Lake City and her brothers moved to California. I expect their descendants are still there.
