They have been located in the 1850 census for DeKalb County, IL, but have not found them beyond that. Two children in 1850: Mary b. abt. 1848 in Illinois and John b. abt. 1850 in Illinois. JOSEPH LESHER, b. 1829, Lebanon County, PA; m. ELIZABETH A. WHITCOMB, 04 Apr 1852, Kane County, IL; b. abt. 1832, Pennsylvania. They remained in Kane County, IL. Eleven children. JOHN CHARLES SCHWEITZER, REV., 20 Feb 1848, DeKalb County, Illinois; b. 24 Jun 1827, Frankendorf, Basel, Switzerland; d. 01 Jul 1904, Malta, DeKalb, IL. They had 11 children. SUSAN LESHER, b. abt. 1838, Ohio; m. CHRISTIAN SUTTER, abt. 1877; b. abt. 1823, Switzerland; d. 01 Apr 1884, East Dubuque, Jo Daviess, Illinois. They had at least 2 children. ?SAMUEL LESHER, b. abt. 1840, Ohio. Residence: 01 Aug 1860, Chatham, Perry Twp., Buchanan, IA with John and Teressa Lesher (father and step mother?). May not be a son of John Lesher as not listed in family info. AMANDA "MANDA" LESHER, b. 17 Aug 1842, Tiffin, Seneca, OH; d. 20 Aug 1930, Worthington, Dubuque, IA; m. John Lesher married (2) Mariah Sarah Philbena or Teresa (1860 census) 26 Feb 1848 Kane County, IL. She was born abt. 1810 in Prussia. They had at least 2 children: JOSEPH LESHER, b. abt. 1850, Illinois. No further info. LUCY A. LESHER, b. Nov 1852, Illinois; m. HENRY J. FELTHAM; b. Jun 1846, England. John Lesher married (3) NANCY RICE 20 October 1865 in Prairieville, Michigan. She was born 04 Jan 1818 in Batavia, Genesee, NY, and died 25 Jul 1890 in Independence, Buchanan, IA. She was previously married to W. J. NOTTINGHAM and ? TOWNSEND. There were no children from this union. Most interested in finding John Lesher's parents, siblings and confirm name of first wife.
