I visted him there several times when I was younger. Our Cousin Karl Heinz Leister is currently the mayor of Dalburg. My Uncle and one Aunt still live on the Mosel river very near Dalburg. I visit germany when I can and next time I go I plan on looking up some records in dalburg and other cities nearby to try to find more of my german ancestors and where they went. My Great grandfather - Johan Leister had 9 children as well and we have several cousins still alive and doing well in germany and elsewhere around the world. I am in contact with some of them. My other aunt who now lives in missouri is also helping me to locate old family photos or records of our great great great great grandparents. If anyone has any info that isn't on my tree for the Leister's I would really like to fill in those blanks. Peter Leister was my Great great grandfather and some of his family his brother Johannes Nikolaus Lei! ster migrated to America in the late 1800's. They lost contact after the passage of time. So we never knew what had become of the "american Leister's" until now. This is so cool! :-D I still don't have any info as to who Peter's parents where and the list of all his sibilings. I hope to hear from some of my distant american cousins anytime either here or at my email which is Obladra5@yahoo.com. If anyone has questions or has pictures to swap or share that would be really cool. I'll try to upload more of the Leister pictures that I have in the near future.
