In answer: I find David Haines Lescalleet in the 1840 census Baltimore 8th ward as David H Luscaleet; in the 1850 census he is in Baltimore in the 18th ward as Lusterlate, age 38, a boilermaker. All four of his children appear to have been born in Balt. I have not seen an 1860 or 1870 census, but in the 1880 he is in Wash. at age 69, still a boilermaker. He worked in a machine shop at the Navy Yard along with several other male family members over several generations. Son Abraham Baile was a machinist, married Maria Sullivan of Alexandria and had 3 sons; son Jesse Warfield worked 32 yrs for the Penn Railroad, had 2 daus. who died young and a son; Sarah Catherine married Walter Swain and had 4 children- 2 sons and 2 daus.; John William was a bachelor and engineer who lived for years with his parents.Would love to hear from any connection to share info.!
