    3. No one has yet mentioned the Yorkshire (specifically, Barnsley) dialect which my grandfather used even though he was born in Hugglescote and grew up there before moving to Barnsley. As an American, I find this one nearly unintelligible!     3. Which reminds me, although only a few miles from Sheffield, the bread cake suddenly turns into a tea cake in Barnsley. Everywhere else a tea cake is sweet with currants in, but not in Barnsley. The thought of a bacon tea cake is most odd.
