    3. hi Jill Yeah I found my post earlier today when I was searching. Can't find a record of any pubs on Highway Road, even if I search under Thurmaston which is where the top end was. Having looked through some contemporary directories I also can't find a pub with William Cook as the landlord, apart from the Stag & Pheasant in Melton. I'm wondering if maybe he'd retired by 1841 but gave "publican" as his trade anyway. I think it'll take a bit of detective work to figure it all out...
