Hi Carolyn As I said I didn't think you were saying that yours was transported Millbank was coming to the end of its life then and stopped having inmates from 1886 I can't see a logical reason why anyone from Leicester would be sent there In fact Millbank was supposed to be a military prison from 1870, borne out by the 1881 census where all appear to be soldiers or military , was he a soldier?
