Oh yes, I have been doing that using parish registers, census info, wills, etc. I also use newspapers and google books. I found something on google books once that sated that the authour had heard from Joseph Stenson of Leeds, that it was his uncle William Stenson who instigated the L & S Railway. Since I had already been looking at all other Stensons, I was able to quickly tie Joseph to William and prove that William had a brother Joseph. The same Joseph Stenson of Leeds said that Samuel Smith Harris (mother was Selina Stenson) was a distant relative of William.
