Hi Lester Listers, May I wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!! I've a query for Old Newtonians!! Otherwise formerly known as Alderman Newton Boys Grammar School ex pupils. In my day back in the latew 40's (heavens is that long ago) to 1952 - in the corner of the play ground was a raised slabbed area which was sacrosanct and we weren't allowed to walk or play upon it - it has now been removed to make room for more cars !! Can any of you tell me who and what it was dedicated to/for ? Somewhere I've a reference but I'm blowed if I can find it - be blowed or your blummer being Sileby phrases if not beyond.
