Just an idea - are you sure that Karen CARTER married a Mr HAPPUCH? It occurs to me that her full name could have been Karenhappuch CARTER? Karenhappuch (or Keren-Happuch) is a christian name of biblical origin. She was the 3rd daughter of Job, I think. The name was fairly popular in 18th century.
