    3. Hi Sandra I suggest you email the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Record Office at recordoffice@leics.gov.uk giving name, parish of residence at death and year of death, ask whether they have a matching will and, if so, the cost of supplying a photocopy. If you strike oil, armed with the information from the will the best way of tracking children forward would, of course, be via the censuses. Good luck! John Ward. -----Original Message----- From: leicestershire-plus-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:leicestershire-plus-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of leicestershire-plus-request@rootsweb.com Sent: 25 October 2007 08:21 To: leicestershire-plus@rootsweb.com Subject: LEICESTERSHIRE-PLUS Digest, Vol 2, Issue 330 Today's Topics: 1. I wondered if anyone might have the names Thomas HOLMER & Mary Carter, or a Mr GOLDING and Elizabeth Carter (both men supposedly marrying my Carter girls in the 1720-30s), in their tree. Or later, Karen Carter who married, I believe, Mr HAPPUCK probably in the 1790's. Any help at all, even if it only verifies the names, would be really useful. I've found NBI entries for my great grandparents in Market Bosworth in 1817 and 1827, and was wondering if there is further information to be found. E.g. as I know the date of death, it might be easier to find a will, if there was one. Where should I look? I'm hoping to find what became of their other children (I've only been able to trace my own line forward), are there any documents that would help me with that? Thanks Sandra ------------------------------ Message: 5 Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2007 20:45:28 +0100 From: "Carolyn McCartney" <carolyn.mccartney@btinternet.com> Subject: [LEI] FW: HOLMER, GOLDING, HAPPUCK, CARTER To: <LEICESTERSHIRE-PLUS@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <200710250252.l9P2qIAk028730@mail.rootsweb.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" I sent the following message this morning but as it hasn't appeared yet am resending it: My research in Leicestershire is with CARTERS, but I am struggling with them! 3. Thanks to all who replied. I have searched the national archives and found that neither of them left a will. As I don't live in the UK, my next step is to order the films from the LDS and hope that I find some useful information there. Sandra
