    3. There were RAINS in Matlock and Bonsall in Derbyshire in 1851 and a John Rains born in Wirksworth, Derbys in 1790. I have no Rains on my tree but a Will I have a copy of, mentions an adopted daughter who was a Rains as well as my ancestor. His name was recorded as Benjamin RHINES and in 1793 he and his wife Elizabeth (unknown maiden name) had their son, also named Benjamin (RAINES), baptised at the United Reform Church in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
